Dr. Emir Osmanagic is Senior Director of Enabling Technologies for DePuy Synthes, Spine R&D a Johnson and Johnson Company. In this role, Emir is focused on digital and robotic technology stack aimed to revolutionize Spine/Ortho space. This includes internal and external innovation strategy, incubation through J&J Innovation Centers and overseeing execution.
Prior to joining Johnson and Johnson, Dr. Osmanagic was a Head of New Technologies and Innovation at Baxter Inc. In this role, Emir stood up a global technology innovation team and coordinated collaborations with academia and industry to increase the rate of adoption and proliferation of innovative technologies.
Additionally, Dr. Osmanagic held positions at Pfizer, Monsanto, and bioMerieux with focus on leading teams in biotechnology and medical device industries. During his nearly 20 year tenure in St. Louis, Dr. Osmanagic thought curses at the School of Engineering and Applied Science, develop programs and served as a bridge between industry and academia.
Dr. Osmanagic holds B. Sc., M.Sc. degrees in Electrical and Systems Engineering, and Ph.D. completed at School of Medicine, Department of Radiology from Washington University in St. Louis. His doctoral dissertation was titled: “Quantitative Assessment of Lung Microstructure in Healthy Mice Using an MR-based 3He Lung Morphometry Technique”.
