Panel: Strategies for Marketing and Promoting Your Practice on Social Media

Building an online presence for your practice is a huge opportunity to tap into a huge untapped market of potential patients. More importantly, social media is a great asset for developing trust and credibility with your audience.

Physicians should see social media as a way to improve their search results online, increase awareness for their brand, and showcase their authority and expertise.

This panel will cover best practices on topics including:

  • How do you best identify where your audience congregates online?
  • What types of content should you be posting that will lead to highest rates of engagement?
  • How do you cultivate a brand voice that encourages your audience to engage?
  • Should doctors friend their patients on social media?
  • Should medical practices advertise on social media?
  • What do you do about bad online reviews?

About Your Presenter(s)

Scott Zeitzer is the Founder and President of P3 Inbound, a marketing platform that helps physicians grow their practice and treat more of the right patients for their specialty.

Scott’s 30 years of healthcare experience began at Tulane University, where he received a masters degree in Biomedical Engineering. He spent the next decade working in the medical device industry with orthopedic surgeons and neurosurgeons.

Working side-by-side with physicians gave Scott a unique perspective on how to connect device manufacturers, physicians, and patients throughout the continuum of care. With that vision in mind, Scott founded Mudbug Media in 1998 and spent the following 20 years helping healthcare organizations like Stryker, Ochsner Health, and Teleflex create web applications for physicians and market directly to patients.

Using his resources at Mudbug Media, Scott created the P3 Inbound Platform so physicians could use digital marketing to gain more control over their online reputation and create new referral sources. As of 2018, over 2,000 physicians use P3 to grow their practice.

Since founding Vanguard Communications & Healthcare Change Management in 1994, Ron Harman King has combined the disciplines of online and offline public relations, strategic marketing and information technology into MedMarketLink, a program that guarantees new patients to specialists in more than 17 specialties nationwide. Vanguard’s newest program is MedAmorphosis, a training system co-developed with efficiency and process-improvement experts aimed at reducing inefficiencies, easing physician and nurse burnout, and building staff and patient loyalty.

Ron has degrees from three universities in engineering, journalism and information technology. Outside work hours, he is an avid skier, hiker and cyclist; a student of four foreign languages; and enjoys playing classical piano. Ron is the author of The Totally Wired Doctor: Social media, the internet & marketing technology for medical practices. He is a frequent speaker at medical conferences in North America and Europe, a television commentator and a video blogger for MedPage Today, a CME website which reaches 70 percent of U.S. physicians.

Dr Andrade obtained his medical degree from the Catholic University in Ecuador. He completed his residency at University of Miami and Jackson Memorial Hospital where he served as chief resident in 2013-2014. He joined the University of Miami in 2014 as an Assistant Professor of OB/GYN. He has helped developed the program for minimally invasive surgery and is the associate director for the unit of minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and robotic surgery. Doctor Andrade has been awarded as best teacher in the operating room in 2016 and has been named best research mentor for the past three years.
